4 Important Healthy Lifestyle for 30+ Men
I have the healthiest 40+ boss in my office and I admire his healthy lifestyle. We had an office party some time ago and most of us got ill after the event and there was our boss, walking around energetically. Not even once has he called for a day off because he is sick. As inquisitive as I am, I asked him how he is able to keep himself looking like a 25-year-old man and he gave me some tips.
He said that many men feel embarrassed about certain health issues, especially concerning their sex life and prostrate. Being healthy is the state of complete well-being of a person physically, mentally, and socially. Young men of today are more concentrated on making money.
When the money finally comes, most of them develop many health issues and tend to use the same hard-earned money on treatment. So it is important to live healthy in your young adult life to be strong later in your mid adult life.
These tips are for men who want to stay healthy and look younger for women to admire and compliment them.
4 Tips for a Healthy Lifestyle for Men to Feel Younger and Stronger
Reduce Stress
Research indicates that many men die earlier than women due to the stress and burden they carry. Men do not open up on health issues so they are presumed healthy like the Alpha male they want to be. Men need health care promptly when the need arises.
Stress can be good and bad. An example of good stress is academic stress. Stress leads to anger, lack of sleep, loss of appetite for certain things and overthinking. Stress, when unaddressed can lead to depression. Major depression may also mean premature aging. Stress should be avoided for a man to look well and younger than his age.
Having 7 or more hours of sleep a night is recommended for an adult man but most men are advised to go to bed and get up the same day including weekdays to be well rested and reduce stress levels.
Limit Unprescribed Medications
It is common these days for people to google their symptoms and get required drugs on the internet without seeing a medical doctor. Lately, men are obsessed with impressing women in bed. They go in for all kinds of herbal and unprescribed drugs for improved sexual performance. These drugs have side effects that can develop into health problems in the near future affecting your physical or psychological health.
Live Right
Living right is basically doing the right things to improve your health and increase your lifespan. Drinking at least 2.6 litres of water (10 cups) for an adult male is recommended by doctors. Sleeping well. Eating right.
Water dehydration causes kidney problems. Reduce the intake of alcohol says my boss. He does not drink alcohol or carbonated drinks. He prefers fruits and water because he says it makes him well-hydrated and energetic.
Your diet as a man is an essential thing to work on. It is not about eating a large amount of food but eating well-balanced food can also improve men’s health. It is significantly good to eat heavily in the morning to help to boost your metabolism and helps the body to function at its best. Eat more fruits and vegetables to stay in good shape. Good diet and exercise improve brain functioning. Cut down on sugary foods, fats and oils. Don’t forget to stay up 2-3 hours after supper before bedtime.
Regular exercise
Growing up, I noticed most adult men do not have time to do some exercises because they are much more concentrated on making money. Imagine making lots of money and spending it all on drugs later in life because you did not take care of your health.
My boss said he jogs for an hour at least and does 100 press-ups every morning before work. He hardly misses running on Saturday mornings. There are two types of exercises namely, moderate and vigorous exercise. A typical example of moderate exercise is walking fast and examples of vigorous exercises are jogging, riding bikes, playing basketball, etc.
Exercising helps reduce chronic diseases like hypertension, diabetes, etc. Exercise improves sexual functions for men, lowers cholesterol and improves the general well-being of men.
As a young adult male, you should live healthy before you hit 30 years so your bad decisions in your teens and twenties do not affect your health. Starting from now, it is never too late to achieve good health by taking care of yourself. As Jim Rohn said, “Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live”.
